More baby

Thats me holding him. He told me that I'm his favorite aunt.

In there with him is a picture of his big sister and a stuffed elephant that his aunti Beth bought at the convient gift shop down the hall.

getting his hair washed. Thank you to the nice nurse that didn't throw me out of the hosptial for inserting my hands and camera into the "nurses and parents" only room.

this one was taken by his daddy (who was allowed in the room)

Oh, its been a long day!

The proud parents!

Introducing my new nephew

around here he will be going by the name of "the rookie" (my brother loves baseball)

The story starts at 6:00 a.m. Tuesday morning. My brother, sister-in-law, and her parents arrive at the hospital and get settled in for a long day. At 8:00 she receives her patosin. Around noon she got her epidural. At 1:00 she was at 5 cm. I made my appearance around this time to encourage her. I ended up latching onto my 19 month old niece and took her home for a nap at 1:30. As I was walking away my mother says, "Oh, it'll be hours yet." At 2:15 my dad calls and says, "He's here". It all happened really fast (as it did with her first). She only pushed for 15 minutes. "Little Miss" and I raced back to the hospital to meet the new baby boy. I used up all the space on my camera. He was about 2 hours old in the picture above. He's so perfect. Anyway, he was born at 2:04 p.m. and weighed in at a fabulous 7 lbs 10 oz and 19 inches long. Oh, and mommy was amazing. Both are healthy and doing fine. Praise The Lord!

Things are probably going to be all baby here for a while.

Busy

Sorry I haven't been around all week, if anyone noticed. Its been one busy thing after another, starting with a glorious graduation. Below is a picture of my niece, "C". She graduated high school last Friday night. I was so proud of her. To make a long story short, I love her as my own child. She spent much time at our house as a child and preteen. Now, she is so grown up. My prayer life increases with each... interesting choice she makes.

On Saturday my maternal Grandmother was admitted to the hospital. She has had some serious physical and mental issues for a year now. She's 85. On Monday they moved her to a larger hospital in another city because they believed it was her heart. Yesterday, they did a heart catherization. They found the problem and it seems that she may be alright.
The other thing that has held my attention is my extremely pregnant sister-in-law. She started having heavy labor Friday. She has visited the e.r. twice only to be sent home again because of her lack of progression. She saw her doctor yesterday and he said he really still wanted to wait. The baby is ready to come, but her body isn't ready to birth him. So, if her water doesn't break on its own by next Tuesday June 2nd then she will be induced. I'm hoping that her water will break this Saturday so my Dad can be there for the birth. But, I just want a healthy baby boy and a healthy momma.

He's coming

picture take from photobucket
My sister-in-law (brother's wife) started having some major contractions yesterday. Every ten minutes. She was feeling hot and agitated. This morning she is feeling even worse (or better depending on how you look at it). She is 36 weeks so everything should be fine with the baby. She is on her way to her O.B. right now to see if she is further dilated (she was at 1 last Wednesday). While I would love to meet my little nephew today, his mommy would rather he cook a little longer. Please pray for "B" (sister-in-law) and her doctor.
Update: Her doctor was called away. She is going back at 4:00. Her opinion as changed, she is ready to have that baby today.
Another Update: No baby today after all. She is still only dialated to 1 and the doctor wants the baby to stay in there a little longer.

My Brother's New Baby & A Give-Away

Last October my sister-in-law found out that she was expecting again. It was around my birthday actually. She called us one evening and shared their good news. She makes a beautiful pregnant lady. I remember the next exciting call we got just a few weeks after. It was when they found out the gender. Now here comes the give-away part. All you have to go is guess the correct gender of the baby and I will send you some coupons. Here's what I have:

  • save $3 Venus razors
  • save $5 Olay moisturizer
  • 2 save $1 Olay soap
  • 3 save $1 Old Spice bodywash
  • save $2 Old Spice bodywash
  • 3 save $1 Metamucil
  • save $1 Gain Detergent
  • 2 save $3 Clearblue Easy Prg. test
  • save $2 Gillette
  • 2 save $2 Gillette Fusion razor
  • 2 save $1 Gillette Fusion gel or after shave
  • save $1 Pepto-Bismol
  • save $1 Downy

Leave your guess in a comment. All correct guesses will be entered. I will use random.org to pick a winner. You will be entered twice if you post about this giveaway on your blog and link to it. Theres no doubt in my mind that I will include some other nice goodies with the coupons. I will announce the winner on Saturday May 2nd in the a.m.

If you know me and I've told you the gender- please refrain from participating. Don't spoil my fun.

The coupons originally came from http://myheartisalwayshome.blogspot.com/. She sent me some and I picked out what I wanted. If you would like to participate but don't need or want the coupons- maybe you know someone who does.

Update: Well, I didn't get any takers for this. I guess that shows how little known I still am (this time around). I plan to send the coupons to my friend Mary. If there was anyone out there wondering the gender- they are having a boy. She was told that she was due at the beginning of June. However she lost her mucus plug last week and she's been having back contractions. She goes back to the doctor Wednesday. We will see if she is dilated at all. She is 35 weeks.

Little Miss big girl style

You can read about the birth of "Little Miss" here. It makes me cry every time I read it.
She's my brother's daughter. She is 18 months old now. She has a huge vocabulary for her age. She is exceptional. That's her dancing in her ballerina outfit with her daddy.
Later today, I'm going to post something about my brother's new baby, who is coming soon. I'm thinking that I should involve a GIVE-AWAY also and share some of the coupons that I got from Ms. Wendi.
