13 Weeks!

13 weeks

What your baby's up to taken from pregnancyandbaby.com
This is the week where your baby's intestines are migrating from the umbilical cord into his or her abdomen. Your baby's liver begins to secret bile and the pancreas of your little one is even secreting insulin! All twenty baby teeth have formed and are waiting under the gums. Your baby has begun to practice swallowing by taking in the surrounding amniotic fluid and passing it back into the amniotic sac through his urine. Your baby can now smile and his vocal cords are quickly developing, too. Your baby is beginning to look a little more human as his eyes move closer together and the ears begin moving to what will be their normal position. The placenta and baby are about the same weight now. Your baby weighs approximately 28-30 grams (one ounce) and is approximately 9.5 cm (1.5-2.0 inches) long.
