I'm enjoying being at home, but I miss being on-line everyday. Can't have it all. I'll be on-line as much as I can.

Another Book Added To My List
Last night PBS showed a BBC version of The Wind In The Willows. I thought the title sounded familiar. I went over to my bookcase and sure enough I had it. I think I picked it up at a yard sale last year. I guess I didn't know what I had. Its a famous children's book in Britian. I watched a few minutes of the movie, and enjoyed what I saw. I didn't continue because I hate to watch the movie before I read the book. I figured they would air it again sometime or I might beable to get my hands on it from the library when I'm finished reading.

I'm Back!
What a nice little rest we had from our usual schedule. I was able to get caught up on my cleaning. I've felt behind every since I was sick. I had a decent visit with my relatives. Hubby's Birthday was Thursday. He turned 28 years old. Every year he gets closer to 30, its a little scary for me. He keeps taking me with him....LOL!
I'm itching for spring. Yestarday was beautiful- but today is dreary and rainy. I was hopeing to get a walk in today, but at this rate it doesn't look likely.
I'm also dreaming of taking a trip soon. We love to travel. I've been looking at Niagra Falls or maybe somewhere along the Suwannee River which is in Georgia & Florida.
My sister-in-law's appt. was rescheduled for next Friday. Shes probably 8 weeks along and still has yet to see a doctor. She has been feeling a little sick, but I'ld be worried if she wasn't. She says she'll feel better about buying things once she passes the 12 week mark. We are a little intrigged by the fact that she seems to already be showing some. Could it be multipules?! Only time will tell.
I'm determined to get back into reading. However much I would like to be outside soaking in the sun (when its out), I know I need to keep my mind sharp. Tomarrow I'm going to post my reading list goal for the summer. I'm not really a fast reader, but maybe once I get started I'll get faster. Also, I'm going to get started on my lamb project....now I have 2 to make.

Christian Book Stores
Recently I've visited a couple of Christian Book stores in our area. Ones that I've shopped at before and found helpful in my growth as a helpmeet and homemaker. But, upon browesing them recently I noticed that any conservative books that they used to carry have been discontinued. Now the shelves are full of Joyce Meyer books, Joyce Meyer bibles (yeah she thinks she needs her own bible), Joyce Meyer calendars, etc. Then I look over in the next eisle and there are Beth Moore everything-Gloria Copeland everywhere.
Have you noticed it or is it just me? Has Christian Book Store even gone liberal?

Amish books

http://www.barbourbooks.com/book/detail/bishops-daughter-the/
My mom got me to reading this series. The picture is of the cover to the 3rd book. Right now I'm reading the second. The first two are called "The Storekeeper's Daughter" & "The Quilter's Daughter". These books are really good. I had never given much thought to the Amish. I am amazed at the role the women play in that lifestyle. They are taught from childhood that they are to be wives and mothers. A lot of the time they also contribute to the family financially without compromising their work at home. Throughout the book it talks about the different food they eat. I went searching for some authentic Amish recipes, but haven't found any yet.

Lies Women Believe

This book really opened my eyes on some of the many lies that I was taught growing up. One of many was that during "that time of the month" you must be grumpy. Especially towards your husband because he is a guy and men are scum during this time. Big Lie! All I had to do was realize that I did not need to be mean during this time (or ever for that matter), and the last two monthes I've been fine. Not only have I not been a monster, but I notice that the physical complications like aches and pains don't bother me as much. My bitterness was just agitating those things. Its amazing what a renewing of the mind can do for you. Please read this book...if you haven't already. You can get it from the link to your left called "Revive our Hearts" or possibly from your local christian bookstore, which is where I got mine. I'm keeping my eyes open for another book by Nancy called "The Feminist Mistake". I'll blog about it when I can get my hands on a copy. We don't do credit cards otherwise I'ld just order it.
