My Weekend In A Nutshell

Friday we finally purchased some new things for our bathroom (or otherwise known as "the never ending project"). We bought new cabinets, with counter top and a pedestal sink. I'll try and post a picture of the cabinets tomorrow. They are so pretty. Saturday we didn't do anything real exciting. Did our grocery shopping and made a cake for my Dad. Sunday we bought flowers and a new grill for my husband for father's day. I'll post pictures of those too.

* Extra nutshell trivia- Just a tip, Don't turn your back on a 4 year old playing with your cell phone. They know more than you think about technology. (4 year old refuring to husband's buddy's daughter)

My Weekend In A Nutshell

Saturday morning we got up early. Well, late for us; but early for most. We were seeking fresh produce. We had the intentions of coming home with all kinds of goodies, we even brought our large cooler. Instead, all we ended up with was 6 peaches. To make a long story short, we learned that things aren't done growing until July. However, we did learn the location of two produce shops that would soon have goods and also two Amish country stores. And we also made the acquaintance of a very soft, good-smelling, all-together-wonderful, Great Dane puppy. Unfortunately, purchasing the puppy involved my husband's least favorite words "credit card".
Saturday evening we went with my parents to a benefit concert. The featured performances were of a Johnny Cash impersonator opening for an Elvis impersonator. It was fine, but I'm pretty critical of Elvis impostors. Sunday was hum-drum and rest.
  • Just a little "nutshell" trivia that may come in handy latter- I learned this weekend that I like Long Island Ice Tea. But, on a hot summer day it only makes you warmer.

My Weekend In A Nutshell

I spent the majority of my weekend in the hospital. Friday my Grandma was admitted. Then Saturday they brought in my Grandpa. (my mom's parents). My Grandma has been having some emotional issues lately. I guess my Grandpa got so worried over her, that he had a mild heart episode. Grandpa was realised Sunday morning, and Grandma should get out this morning. Sitting in a hospital is exhausting.
Friday evening we visited hubby's cousin and kids. Saturday morning we went to another local festival (around here theres one every weekend) and our favorite niece joined us. We hadn't spent any quality time with her for probably a year. We were thrilled. She and I got air brush tattoos.
Oh, one more thing- Stevie's up to 3 eggs layed now. She's being a real good mommy.

My Weekend In A Nutshell

I had a long weekend. Friday we camped with my mother. Saturday we went to a local festival with my parents. We saw a revolutionary war reenactment, many little colonial shops. I bought some homemade soap and a scrap rug. My grandma used to make those rugs and thankfully my husband let me buy one. Sunday we bought some silk flowers a I made grave bouquets. It took us all day to go to all the graves, but we enjoyed the day very much. Going over memories of our loves ones and we had a picnic. Monday I was off "work", but I worked all day on our home. I cleaned and scrubbed. Made dinner (roast and veggies) in the crock pot. I made french bread. I worked on crafts. It was a very good weekend!
